UPDATE 11/26/02 on the Montana Collies

Statement by AWCA President Jean Levitt

*Permission to crosspost*

The dog toys are on their way to Montana!  As soon as our 11/25 update was posted announcing our veterinarian’s request for nylabones, many of you responded, and they were sent.  The cat hidey holes and cat nests were also sponsored immediately.  Checks were sent for cat litter and pan liners, and a dog club got together and sent the water pail clips.  Okay, I admit I was less than “calm” when Judy relayed this information to me!  Thank you all.

AWCA still needs another licensed veterinary technician who can travel at his/her own expense to support the grooming team.  Is there an organization out there who knows of such an individual whom you would be willing to sponsor?  If so, respond to Judy Cummings, AWCA Secretary, at jccollie@worldnet.att.net.

Now, this request is not as fun, but it is very important to help decontaminate the animals and provide them with dignity.  The captain of the professional groomers on our grooming support team urgently requests you send old terrycloth towels which have never been used on animals.  They must be washed with bleach, no matter what color, and very thoroughly dried in a hot, closed dryer before packing them.  Ship these ASAP to:  AWCA Grooming Team – TOWELS

The next update will be after Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Calmly,

Jean Levitt, President AWCA
